Having a playroom in your house is a wonderful idea, especially if you have small children. Kids need a room for themselves to have fun and play games with their friends. Many parents try to convince their kids to use their bedroom as a playroom. But that seldom works out as bedrooms are often small and cannot accommodate toys, craft materials, and other playthings. Another problem is that furniture like the bed, wardrobe, and study table, hardly leaves space for the child and his friends to play. To avoid all these problems, it is best to demarcate a room that is specifically used for playing. If you have a playroom, you do not have to worry about your kids just slumping in front of the television or computer. But how do you find space for a playroom? A good idea would be to convert the basement of your home into a playroom. Even if you have a half finished basement it can be converted into a beautiful playroom for your kids.
It seems only yesterday that my nine-year-old niece loved everything to do with Disney characters. In fact, her room was filled with Disney wall murals, bedspreads, and unlimited stuffed toys. Then, almost overnight, she suddenly decided that it was time to shed off the Mickey Mouse dcor for the "New Moon" dcor. That meant a lot of Edward and Bella pictures splashed all over the walls, beds, and even the comforter. While planning out the bedroom designs for tweens, it is essential that you understand that your kid now wants something that reflects his or her own personality, interests, and style. Here are some tweens bedroom design ideas to help you on your way to a perfect room makeover for your kid.
No matter what her age, there are certain things that a girl will always like, so use such elements to decorate the bedroom. Soft toys, paintings, flower vases, flowers, and music are some such ideas. Place a few soft toys on the bed, a flower vase on a desk with fresh flowers in it, and hang paintings or photographs on the walls. Music is something that everybody likes, so make a space dedicated for music like a rack to store discs, place to keep the stereo, a poster on the wall of the favorite music band. You can also add different accent items that complement the theme design of the bedroom. Place a lampshade on the bedside lamp with intricate lace work, a bean bag on the floor, a fancy rug, etc.
Co-sleeping gives working mothers extra time with their babies, fostering the mother-child bonding. It also allows mothers to attend to their babies' needs quickly. Mothers do not need to get up and fetch the baby for night-time feedings, which saves time and breastfeeding can go on for longer duration. This helps to synchronize the mother and baby's sleep cycle.
